Junior Infants – A Marvellous March!
March has truly been a march-ing success in Junior Infants, filled with fun, learning and lots of exciting activities across both classrooms!
Both classes had a fantastic time taking part in Lá Glas, celebrating all things green with songs, stories and a wonderful sense of community spirit. We also really enjoyed our "All STEAM Ahead" initiative, where the children explored science, technology, engineering, art and maths through hands-on activities and experiments. There was great curiosity, teamwork and lots of “wow” moments throughout the two weeks!
We were very proud to support Daffodil Day, learning about kindness and helping others, while also taking part in simple age-appropriate discussions around caring for people in our community.
In the classroom, there has been a huge focus on oral language, with lots of Show and Tell opportunities. The children have grown in confidence speaking in front of their classmates, asking questions and sharing their ideas.
In Maths, we have been busy developing our understanding of numbers through counting, ordering and exploring numbers to 10. The children have also been working on early problem-solving, using mathematical language and engaging in hands-on activities to deepen their understanding. These approaches reflect our emphasis on active learning and using concrete materials to support early mathematical development .
We have also been very busy with Easter Art, creating colourful and creative pieces that have brightened up our classrooms. From cutting and colouring to painting and designing, the children have shown fantastic creativity and fine motor skills.
Overall, it has been a brilliant month full of learning, laughter and lovely memories. We are so proud of all the progress the children are making each day – well done to all our Junior Infants! 🌟
